Biography
Dave graduated from a joint Bachelor’s-Master’s program at Stevens Institute of Technology in 2014. During his undergraduate, he worked primarily on microfluidic cell culture in the lab of Dr. Woo Lee. He has interned twice at Stryker Orthopaedics in Mahwah, New Jersey, in addition to spending time over two summers working in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at University Medical Center Groningen in the Netherlands. Dave was named a Goldwater Scholar in 2013 and a Department of Defense NDSEG (National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate) Fellow in 2015. Dave started his Ph.D. in the UC Berkeley – UCSF Graduate Program in Bioengineering in 2014 and joined the Alliston lab in May 2015. His current work involves studying cellular responses to physical and biochemical cues, especially how they interact with the TGFβ pathway.
